I got these books off Amazon a few weeks ago for a total of $12. I’ve started off with “For Her Own Good: 150 Years of the Experts’ Advice to Women”, written by Barbara Ehrenreich and Deirdre English, the writers of “Witches, Midwives and Nurses: A History of Women Healers” and “Complaints and Disorders: The Sexual Politics of Illness” (which I have yet to read). Unlike the other two books I got, “For Her Own Good” is more of an essay than a textbook. I’m still excited to be reading from the textbooks though.
I’m accepting suggestions for other good books with related subjects, so send them my way!
